Biographical / Historical
The creator of this photograph album, Robert W. Curry, was most likely the following individual:
Robert Wendell Curry, Sr. was born to Bryan Benjamin (1896-1981) and Blanche A. (Valentine) Curry (1898-1984) on August 29, 1917 in Switzerland County, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University in 1939. He worked for Joseph E. Seagram and Sons Inc., 7th St. Road, Louisville, Kentucky in 1940. Curry was 5'10" with blue eyes and blond hair, according to his draft card. He was an engineer and spent most of his career at Naval Avionics in Indianapolis, Indiana, before retiring in 1973.
Curry was married twice, first to Nellie Lorene Whitehead (1917-2002), whom he later divorced, and then to Betty Jean Leisure (1926-1992) on January 23, 1982 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He and Nellie had a son, Robert Wendell, Jr. and a daughter, Victoria Valentine. Curry was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Vevay, Indiana as well as the Loyal Order of Moose. Curry died on October 3, 2010 (according to his headstone, though his obituary says 2011) in Texas and was buried at Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana.
