Biographical Note
Miller's father and uncle were in the American Civil War. His father was in Company G, 37th Indiana Volunteers, and fought around Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga, Chickamauga, and Atlanta. He was wounded at the Battle of Stones River on the first day.
In Kansas, Miller married, was converted, and called into the ministry. He preached for 12 years in Grant, Wells, and Johnson counties, in Indiana. He and his wife had two daughters.
