Biographical Note
Verna Gray Armstrong is a descendant of John Gray, a pioneer who settled in Lawrence County, Indiana. He was born to William and Lydia Gray in the 1760s in North Carolina. He married a woman named Mary Trumbull in 1801. Not long after, he moved his family to what would later be known as Indiana. It is believed that he died in Springville, Indiana around 1857.
