The collection contains correspondence, postcards, calendars, poems, book reviews, pamphlets, programs, and newspaper clippings from Frank G. Darlington ranging from 1871 to 1915. The collection contains many papers pertaining to James Whitcomb Riley and other Indiana authors. There is also Darlington’s undated thesis.

Biographical Note

Frank Graef Darlington was born in Pennsylvania on December 29, 1859. In 1883 he married Elise Buckingham. They had three children, James, Henry and John. Frank was the Superintendent of the Indianapolis Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was an avid book collector. Darlington died on February 21, 1918 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio.
