Biographical Note

Peter Frentz, born circa 1830 in France, was a stencil cutter by trade in New Albany, Indiana. He married Elizabeth Bernker in 1851. In 1854, Peter and Elizabeth had a daughter named Margaret, who at the age of fifteen was granted a patent for an improvement made to corset fastening. Peter Frentz was granted patents for improvements made to wash boilers and for inventing a device for carrying hoses.
