Historical Note

The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen was organized in Oneonta, New York in June of 1883 in order to provide death benefits for railroad employees. The job was dangerous and the death rate was high. Floyd Holsworth was initiated into the Huntington 55 BR.R.T. in 1893.
