Scope and Contents

The collection includes 102 pages of a deconstructed scrapbook that includes newspaper clippings, photographs, ribbons, programs and other materials covering the activities of the Woman's Relief Corps and the Grand Army of the Republic from 1942-1943. The scrapbook is organized under headings for 22 chapters of the W.R.C. in 22 cities in Indiana by city name, chapter name, and chapter number. There are also loose materials throughout the scrapbook pages.

Events covered by the newspaper clippings and other materials are social activities of W.R.C. chapters, campaigns of home front support for World War II, patriotic ceremonies, benevolent activities, and major gatherings of the G.A.R. and W.R.C. Prominent coverage is given to the 76th, 77th, and 78th annual encampments of the G.A.R. and the 55th national convention of the W.R.C.
