Scope and Contents

From the Collection: This collection contains correspondence, press releases, newspaper clippings, reports, and other documents collected and received by Frank O'Bannon and his staff during his campaign for governor and later as Evan Bayh's running mate in the 1988 Indiana gubernatorial election. The collection also contains documents regarding O'Bannon's biographical and legislative history; copies of some of his speeches and campaign press releases; names and addresses of various media outlets in Indiana; a January 6, 1988 letter O'Bannon received from Sen. Vance Hartke that included a photograph of Hartke, O'Bannon and Jack Rumback taken at the 1961 I.D.E.A. convention at French Lick, Indiana; a letter from Fort Wayne Mayor Winfield Moses that included a reprinted copy of the Fortune magazine article "A Rust Belt City Takes On a Shine"; a copy of an October 16, 1987 letter sent to George Foundos by Illinois Lieutenant Governor George H.
