Scope and Contents

From the Collection: This collection includes newspaper clippings, scrapbook pages, correspondence, and other documents from Laurel Conwell Thayer ranging from 1862 to 1943. Correspondence includes letters to Laurel Conwell Thayer's mother, Maria Conwell Thayer, primarily from her niece Elisabeth Conwell Wilson, but also other correspondents. Also included is a letter from Laurel's father, William Wild Thayer and letters to Laurel Conwell Thayer from Virginia Brooks of West Hammond, Indiana. Other documents include material written by Laurel Conwell Thayer regarding adult probation and court events in Marion County, Indiana and biographical material about William Wild Thayer. Materials date from 1862-1943.
