Scope and Contents

From the Collection: This collection consists of a disassembled monograph titled Monographs on American book-plate designers, illustrating the works of F. Arthur Jacobson, Edward Edwards, Herbert Gregson, Amy M. Sacker, Elisha Brown Bird, Ralph Fletcher Seymour, D. McNeely Stauffer, Adrian J. Iorio, Frank Chouteau Brown, Hugh and Margaret Eaton, Theodore Brown Hapgood, Margarite Scribner Frost by W. Porter Truesdell, W. G. Bowdoin, F. C. Brown, and O. P. Hatton. It was published in 1907 by Charles E. Goodspeed and The Troutsdale Press in Boston, Massachusetts. This copy belonged to Frank G. Darlington of Indiana. The volume comprises front matter and introduction as well as "brochures" for each bookplate designer. It contains 204 plates, 13 portraits, and 12 leaves.
