Scope and Contents This collection includes photocopies of correspondence sent to General Frederick Haldimand, the governor-in-chief of Quebec province, including a March 10, 1784 letter sent by Johannes Decker asking for the return of his slave "Pompey," who was captured by Indians in New York and sold to a Monsieur Beaubin (Beaubien?) of L'Assomption; and 2 1781 letters written in French and signed by Rey, aide-de-camp to Colonel de la Balme.
