Scope and Contents This collection includes eleven letters written by James L. Wheelock during his service with the 113th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the U.S. Civil War. Ranging from October 1862 to August 1863, the letters were sent to his father and to William Winslow from camps in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. The collection also includes two letters sent to Mr. Winslow on October 11, 1863 by Captain Levi Nichols and George W. Brigham of the 113th regarding Wheelock's death and a November 22, 1863...
