Scope and Contents This collection includes David Commons' daybook containing entries for a Centerville, Indiana general store ranging from 1848 to 1849. Due to the later use of the volume as a scrapbook, the bulk of the entries on pages 1 through 59 are obsured by newspaper clippings. The clippings include poems and articles regarding a variety of political and public interest stories (1868 and undated).
