Scope and Contents The collection consists of one typewritten copy of a promissory note from Chauncy Rose, payable at a bank in Terre Haute, Indiana, with notations of payments made in four installments from June 6, 1835 to January 7, 1936. Rose purchased a house and its lot from Moody Chamberlain, making payments of $110, $200, $100, and $100, for a total of $510.
