This collection contains photostats and photocopies of handwritten, daily journal entries written by George H. Proffit, from August 20 until October 27, 1837. These entries document the removal of the Potawatomi Indians from a camp on Crooked Creek on August 20th until the last entry made in Harmony, Missouri on October 27th. Proffit titled the entries "Journal of Emigration" and provies the number of miles traveled, rations issued, and facts about the trip.

This collection contains business papers, correspondence, receipts and deeds from the firm of Hamilton and Taber, including Cyrus Taber's correspondence with Allen Hamilton.
