Scope and Contents The document in this collection is a typed transcript of a letter written on June 29, 1795 from Henry VanderBurgh in Vincennes, Indiana, to Major John Mills, who was adjutant to Anthony Wayne. Turner mentioned in the letter was Judge Turner, involved with Henry in a controversy on the question of slavery in 1794. Henry wrote about going to Philadelphia after he got money due him from the United States. He had a buffalo robe which he intended to send to Major Guion but found holes worn in it, so...
