This collection is divided into two folders: 1836-1838 and 1838-1853. The original letters include those written by Joshua Soule, a dentist in Indianapolis, and his fiance, Eliza Lawson of Lebanon, Ohio. Some of the other correspondents are William Brown, Andrew Kennedy, and James Whitcomb. Letters dated 1843-1844 regard Democratic party politics.
