Scope and Contents This undated document is handwritten in black ink on blue paper. The heading is "The Contest," and reports on a meeting of the opponents of Mr. Willard at the Market House on Tuesday night. The writer stated: "During the greater part of Willard's remarks, the meeting was an example of decorum and continued so, until it was disturbed by the arrival from Jeffersonville of some half dozen wagons containing a number of the faithful. These men, troubled with more whiskey than brains, made noise...
