Scope and Contents The bulk of the collection consists of photostat copies of John B. Niles’ correspondence ranging from 1837 to 1902, regarding his legal practice. There is some correspondence regarding the Indiana Medical College and a number of letters between Niles and his father-in-law, William Polke. There are also several original documents included in the collection, which are described below.

Scope and Contents This collection includes 23 letters from Williamson Wright in Logansport and Indianapolis, Indiana, ranging from 1837 to 1865, including business correspondence from Wright's legal business, concerning his cases on Indian claims, roads, railroads, canals and canal lands; political correspondence regarding issues before the Indiana General Assembly, as well as Whig and Republican Party politics; and correspondence about his involvement with railroad companies.
